The Fluke 189 Logging Meter can be used to capture a series of readings over time, using either interval or event
triggers. In either instance, the logging function stores the highest, lowest, and average values measured over a
period of time.

The meter also, during the logging process, “time stamps” each start and stop time of the measurement period in real
time. It is the triggering of the measurement period that differentiates interval logging from event logging.
Having the ability to log and record faults and voltages as they occur gives us the edge in being in a position to
repair faults before it reaches critical levels and causes equipment failure or damage to equipment.
